TeacherEase adds Comments, News Feed, and Configurable Main Page
8/9/2013
We’re happy to announce some big changes to TeacherEase. In an effort to make it easier to stay on top of classroom activities, we’ve added News Feed and configurable Favorite links to the Main pages. The redesign provides teachers and students valuable real-time information and simplifies navigation.
The News Feed collects new activities and displays them for teachers and students. Teachers will know when students comment on assignments, when email is received, when an announcement is sent, etc. This is especially helpful to supervise students’ online interactions in class discussions. Students are notified of new assignments, when work has been graded, when other students have replied to their comments, etc. The News Feed is configurable and helps teachers and students stay organized and participate more effectively in an online environment. News Feed isn’t available yet for School Main, but expect it in a future release.
Another change is the ability to configure “Favorite” links on the Instructor Main page. Instructors can now arrange links on their main page. As always, all links can be accessed through the menu at the top of the page. Teachers will also see a summary of upcoming events. Currently, this includes assignments only, but we expect to add calendaring features at a later date.
We’re excited about these changes and feel they will be very beneficial for users. The News Feed and new main page are turned on by default. For anyone who prefers the original main page, they can easily go back to “classic” mode by changing their settings.
