The Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) announced in April that a new Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) is being developed and will replace the current MOSIS Data Collection system.  SLDS uses the Ed-Fi Standard to report data in near real-time.  Feel free to review our previous news articles for more details:

We wanted to provide an update on our progress supporting SLDS. We have been working closely with DESE, and have completed the SchoolInsight software updates necessary to communicate with SLDS through Ed-Fi.  Our product has been certified, and we are ready to participate in the pilot phase of the project.

When the DESE pilot program opens in December, five of our customers will be participating.  They will send data through SchoolInsight to the SLDS pilot environment using the Ed-Fi communication layer. For customers not currently in the pilot, no additional steps are necessary at this time. We may ask additional customers to join the pilot as we progress.

At this time, we are unaware of any other SIS vendors having passed the DESE certification process. We are excited at our progress, and are proud of the commitment we’ve demonstrated to DESE and our Missouri customers.
